SPRUCEWOOD FARM PLANTING DIRECTION
RED OAK Make a 2 ft by 2 ft hole using 1/2 of the soil with equal amount of. It can be fertilized every month with about about 1/4 cup of Scott's Turf Builder without the weed killer, or 1/2 cup of soybean meal. Needs acidic soils from pH of 5 to 6.5. Like well drained, fertile, moist soil.
It is a valuable fast growing oak ( up to 2 feet per year) for lawns, parks, streets, golf courses, and commercial areas.
It grows 60-75 feet tall with the same width.
The leaves are a delight in the Fall, as they are so pretty and they stay on the trees a long time then.
